Twelfth Flight: A Shakespearean Retelling

A turn-of-the-twentieth-century reimagining of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, my film design project puts separated twins Viola and Sebastian Cole on the mechanical crew of Antonio Fowler.

 

Fowler is one of two contenders in a race across America via solo flight, based on a real competition that took place between Cal Rodgers and Bob Fowler in 1911. Fowler and his opponent serendipitously  landed at the University of Arizona on October 30, 1911, just 30 days after starting on their journeys

on opposite coasts.

This project was an incredibly fun intersection of my enjoyment of literature, historic costume research, and background design!
